1. Fort Myers Film Festival

The annual fest returns with more independent shorts, documentaries and feature films shown throughout each day. Opening night features a screening of “Calendar Girls,” a documentary about the Southwest Florida team of all-female, retirement-age dancers. May 18-22. Tickets are $ 10 per film or block of films, or $ 20 for a day pass. For opening night, tickets are $ 20 for movie only, $ 99 for VIP tickets (including early entry, premium seating and hors d’ouevres). 2. Brody Jenner plays Party in the Park

Reality-TV personality and deejay Brody Jenner performs at the outdoor concert Party in the Park, along with singer-songwriter Marc E. Bassy and deejay Devin Lucien. There will also be food trucks and alcoholic drinks. Hosted by DJ M Dot. 4-9 pm Friday, May 13. $ 20- $ 40 ($ 100 for admission and a meet-and-greet with Jenner). 3. Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line

4. “The SpongeBob Musical”

Sophia Gurule stars as the squirrel Sandy Cheeks in Florida Rep's "The SpongeBob Musical."

The Southwest Florida premiere of the Nickelodeon musical. It’s based on the quirky cartoon about SpongeBob SquarePants and the other underwater residents of Bikini Bottom. Performed by the acting students of Florida Rep Education Conservatory. May 19-28. $ 25- $ 30 ($ 15 for students). 5. Joe Nichols and Parmalee

The country stars play the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels’ Party in the Park concert after a Mussels baseball game. Game starts at 4 pm Saturday, May 14, followed by the concert at 7 pm $ 30- $ 32 admission includes both the game and the show.
