Farmers Market has adapted to demands over nine years

I was working on a letter to vendors recently when I realized that this will be the ninth year for the Woodville Farmers Market. I sifted through my notes, and yes, the very first one was held in May 2014.

It doesn’t seem like that long ago that I was at a 7:30 am meeting when the president of the Woodville Business and Community Association asked for ideas for an event that the WBCA could sponsor. Silly me, I raised my hand and suggested a farmers market.

After that meeting, I did some research and created a survey on Facebook. The results were favorable, and so the WBCA proceeded with setting dates and contacting potential vendors. Because a farmers market was my suggestion, I became the committee chairman by default.
