San Joaquin Asparagus FestivalThe San Joaquin Asparagus Festival returns to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in Stockton on Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 pm and Sunday from noon to 8 pm From fried asparagus to asparagus ice cream and many other dishes, to carnival rides and a hole-in-one golf chipping contest and monster truck rides, there are a lot of planned activities. The Fair hours are noon to 11 pm on Friday, 11 am to 11 pm on Saturday and noon to 10 pm on Sunday. Girls on the Run 5KHundreds of girls will lace up Saturday for a 5K run at Inderkum High School in Sacramento’s Natomas area. Mother Lode Round-Up The Mother Lode Round-Up is holding its annual tribute to Western heritage this weekend. A parade kicks off in downtown Sonora at 10 am on Saturday.
