North Macomb libraries offer book clubs, exercise, more – The Voice

Area libraries are offering activities and programs for all ages. Here’s a look at what’s planned at a handful of libraries in the northern Macomb County area.

Lois Wagner Memorial Library

• Senior Exercise will be offered April 25 and 27 from 10 am to 11 am

• Lapsit Plus for kids 16 to 36 months old will take place April 26 at 10 am

• Preschool Storytime for kids 3 to 5 years old is scheduled for April 14 at 10 am

• Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale Preview Night will take place April 20 from 5 pm to 7 pm

• Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale is set for April 21 and 22 from 9 am to 5 pm and April 23 from 10 am to 2 pm

The library will be closed April 15 and 16 for Easter.

Library hours are 9 am to 7 pm Monday to Wednesday, 9 am to 5 pm Thursday and Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm Saturday.

Lenox Township Library

• Pre-K Storytime is offered on Wednesdays at 10:30 am. Join the library for stories and songs at the library. The program is geared towards little kids but all children and families are welcome.

• An Easter party is set for April 9 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Meet and take pictures with the Easter Bunny, do a fun craft, play some games, and participate in an egg hunt. Also, participate in the Easter basket raffle listed on the events page of the library website. The winners will be announced at the party and additional notifications will be sent out to any winner not in attendance.

• Seed Bomb Craft is available April 12 from 6 pm to 7 pm Children 7 years old and older can create their own seed bombs at the library. Filling out the registration form is required for a child to participate. Register at lenoxlibrary.org.

• Movies and Munchies is set for April 18 from 5:30 pm to 7:15 pm Join for a family friendly movie and snack at the library. The program is geared towards children up to 10 years old but all children and families are welcome.

• Adult Craft – Plastic Spoon Flower will take place April 20 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Create a beautiful sunflower out of plastic spoons with guidance from resident artist Ms. Dawn. This program is designated for individuals who are over the age of 21. Spaces are limited and registration is required. Please register each person individually. The registration form will be closed once the maximum capacity for the program has been reached or by April 16, whichever occurs first.

• Crochet Meetup will be held April 27 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm All crochet enthusiasts of all skill levels are welcome. The library will provide the crochet tools necessary.Feel free to bring supplies or projects from home.

A library board meeting will be held April 22 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm

The library has mobile hotspots available for checkout.

Ray Township Public Library

• The Libraries Transforming Communities Grant: Connecting in a Digital World has prompted the library to add a weekly drop in technology time from 11 am to 1 pm every Wednesday at the library. Patrons can ask for help with tech needs any time the library is open, but the library has added the specific time to make sure there is at least one person on-site who can help.

• Kids Craft is set for April 14 from 6 pm to 7 pm Join for an easy-breezy Easter Craft sure to make you hoppy. Come make a bunny tube and just color and visit with friends.

• Healthy Girls, Healthy Goals Series continues April 25 from 6 pm to 7 pm

• Zendoodle Techniques with Mary is set for April 23 from 11 am to 1 pm All Ages are welcome to come join Mary to learn some very basic ZenDoodling techniques. Relax the mind and create a cool piece of art at the same time. This class is suitable for anyone with the fine motor skills to make basic marker lines.

• Toddler Time – Brown Bear, Brown Bear will take place April 27 from 11 am to 11:30 am Join for a toddler storytime with felt board, puzzles and some sensory play. This event is geared for children 18 months through 3 years old or those who are capable and would enjoy a basic story and some hands-on participation.

Armada Free Public Library

• Story Time is set for April 14 and 21 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am A storytime designed for our youngest readers. Join for stories, games and crafts.

• The Tuesday Afternoon Book Club will meet April 19 from 1 pm to 2 pm Join in the discussion on the month’s book. Call to reserve a copy of the reading selection.

• The Armada Genealogy Society will be at the library to answer questions about family history on April 20 from 10 am to 11 am

The library will be closed April 15 and 16 for Easter.

A library board meeting will be held April 21 from 4 pm to 5 pm

A library card allows access to audiobooks, eBooks, magazines and more. Public Wi-Fi is available curbside or in the parking area.

Library hours are noon to 8 pm Monday and Tuesday, 9 am to 8 pm Wednesday and Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm Friday, and 10 am to 2 pm Saturday. Memphis Public Library

• Welcome Back Bingo will take place at the Memphis Branch April 14 from 6 pm to 7:45 pm Light refreshments will be served. Registration Required.

• Eat Healthy, Be Active, Stress Less will be available April 18 and 25. Register by visiting https://msu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0rceCqrj8vEtf3ZF1vjFTrwd5EnvXZKUOr. Once registered a link to the class will be emailed.

• Family Story Time is set for April 22 from 10 am to 10:45 am at the Memphis Branch. Preschoolers and their caregivers are welcome to join for story time. There will be songs, stories, activities and a small craft.

• Bring a friend and join in for a game day at Memphis Library April 23 from 11 am to 1 pm Lunch Provided.

• Use colored glass gems to create a DIY suncatcher to hang in your window at Memphis Library April 26 from 6 pm to 7 pm. Adult Supervision will be necessary.
