Solano County hopping back into Easter spirit with numerous events – The Vacaville Reporter

For the last two years, families have been mostly relegated to doing egg hunts and other Easter activities at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

That is not the case this year.

With restrictions being loosened, Easter events are back in full force in Solano County, with many of them taking place before Easter Sunday so families can get a head start on the festivities. Whether it is egg hunts, craft fairs or visits with the Easter Bunny himself, there is plenty to do.

Below is a partial list:

April 9

  • Dixon Kiwanis Club’s Breakfast with the Bunny: The Easter Bunny is making an early pit stop in Solano, and he invites all the little boys and girls of the area to take photos with him. The club’s annual event also features a $ 5 pancake breakfast, $ 10 all-you-can-eat breakfast, spring and Easter books available to read and a colorable placemat with crayons provided. The breakfast is 9 to 11 am at the Dixon Moose Lodge, 180 West B St. For more information, email dixonkiwanis@hotmail.com.
  • Easter Bunny at Western Ranch: Of course, Dixon won’t be the only place you’ll find Mr. Bunny this weekend. He will also be stopping by Western Ranch for its annual Chick Days. Kids can have their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny, and people may also learn about how to raise baby chicks, which will be available to adopt that day. Patrons may purchase no more than 3. The event is 10 am to 2 pm at 103 Aegean Way, Vacaville. For more information, call 448-6568.
  • Underwater Egg Hunt at Walter Graham Aquatic Center: One could do Easter egg hunts on dry land, but everyone has done that. What about an opportunity to swim for eggs. Vacaville’s Parks and Recreation Department will be providing exactly that with its Underwater Egg Hunt. Eggs will be scattered throughout the pool, and families will dive in to collect as many as possible to win prizes. Kids may also hunt for eggs above ground in the activity area, play games and make arts and crafts in the barbecue area and have a free swim or go down one of the large slides. The drop-in price is $ 14 at the door. Egg hunts begin at 1:15 pm in the activity area for children 0 to 5 and the pool for children ages 6 to 8, and 2 pm in the pool for ages 9 to 12. Walter Graham is located at 1100 Alamo Drive.

April 10

  • Easter Pop-Up Celebration at Solano Brewing Company: This event will be hoppy in more ways than one. The free event will have a petting zoo provided by All About a Farm, pony rides by Pocket Size Pony Rides, face painting by Bombshell Entertainment, a visit from the Easter Bunny and the Easter egg hunt. Those who find golden eggs hidden throughout the brewery can turn them in to the TBG Productions crew – the event’s co-host, who will be providing live entertainment – for prizes. There will also be vendors, and Solano Brewing will have its taproom open for tastings. The event is noon to 4 pm at Solano Brewing, 5500 Weber Road, Vacaville. Advance parking registrations are recommended.

April 13

  • Fleet Feet Easter Fun Run: It’s a good idea to get some exercise in before you spend the weekend gorging on jelly beans and chocolate bunnies. Fleet Feet Vacaville can help with that. The sporting apparel store will be hosting its annual Easter Fun Run, where people can run or walk 3 miles from the store to Alamo Park for an egg hunt. Each egg will contain a prize with the biggest prizes inside a golden egg. Prizes can be redeemed at the store afterward, where refreshments will also be served. The event starts at 6 pm at 354 Merchant St. All ages and abilities are welcome. RSVPs are recommended. For more information, call 449-9266.

April 16

  • Bunnies and Bonnets: Egg hunts, games, bunnies, hayrides, this event has it all. The egg hunts will begin at 11:30 am and will be divided into the age groups of 0 to 3, 4 to 8 and all ages. There will also be sack races, relay races, egg painting, horse-drawn hayrides courtesy of Top Hand Ranch, various vendors and the opportunity to take photos with Ms. Bunny Bonnet. The event is 10 am to 1 pm at Andrews Park, 614 E. Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville.
  • Fairfield Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt Club: As it has for the last 55 years, Fairfield Kiwanis will be bringing back its Easter egg hunt in Lee Bell Park. The event is for ages 12 and under, and families are encouraged to bring their own baskets. Yes, the Easter Bunny will be there. The event begins at 10 am at 1401 Washington St.
  • Eggciting Easter Market and Crafts: Easter is a time that encourages creativity. New business The Creative Space has brought more than 15 local vendors together for a farmers market-style event with crafts for kids, photos with the Easter Bunny, various treats and more. The free event is 11 am to 3 pm at 160 West A St., Dixon.
  • Brunch with the Easter Bunnies at Jelly Belly: The Easter Bunny will stick around Solano a little while longer, and this time, he has brought some friends along. Mr. Bunny will be joined by Wendell and Wendy Bunny for this brunch that also features goodie bags and entertainment. The event is 2 to 4 pm at 1 Jelly Belly Lane, Fairfield. Reservations are required and can be made at JellyBelly.com.
